About the Role

We are excited to offer a rare opportunity to join our People team as a full time HR Business Partner based in Sydney, NSW. This strategic role involves partnering with the business to effectively implement our People roadmap and broader Accent Group strategies. You will play a crucial role in supporting our Retail and Support Office teams, enhancing our people, culture, and wellbeing initiatives, and driving business objectives through innovative HR practices.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with the broader People & HR Team to execute the People strategy.
  • Provide a consultancy and advisory service to Retail Operations and Support Office management on relevant HR matters including interpretation of relevant acts, legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Providing and coach the Retail & Support Office team to offer proactive, compliant, professional advice and practical experience on employee relations issues. This could include employment, performance management, absence, disciplinary, conduct investigations and grievance matters.
  • Manage, monitor, and provide strategies in key people metrics and indicator to forecast any risks, identify trends and measure success to drive continuous improvement.
  • Building and implementing policies, procedures and supporting documents to help refine and proactively upskill our team plus create consistent learning across all levels of the Retail business. 
  • Create and implement further training across the business within remit to upskill our leaders and reduce any foreseeable risks.
  • Lead streamlined compensation structure with portfolio of retail brands to create a consistent approach, manage annual merit reviews, out of cycle requests and set up career progression structure across the Company.

  • Lead efforts to promote diversity and inclusion within the retail workforce.
  • Supporting with any implantation of training and development initiatives

 

To be successful you will have the following skills & experience:

  • Demonstrated 5+ years’ experience in HR and experience as in a People BP/Generalist position (ideally within the retail industry) 
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and ability to advise on a broad range ER/IR issues.
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with a variety of key stake holders across all levels of the business
  • Strong ability to multitask and navigate conflicting priorities
  • Ideally strong Microsoft program experience with excel, power point etc.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written and ability to establish relationships at all levels and support multiple locations
  • Consulting and collaborations skills – skilled at consulting with a wide variety of partner types and navigating new territory
  • Passionate about retail and enthusiastic about driving industry success.
  • Enjoy collaborative teamwork and hands-on involvement with both a Retail and Support Office teams.
  • Demonstrate assertiveness, perceptiveness, tenacity, and approachability.
  • Uphold integrity and accountability in all actions.
  • Actively promote and enhance company culture through engaging events.
  • Relish in tackling new challenges and driving rapid advancements.
